black pants and angst

An eventful week filled with 3 AM bedtimes and yawning at a rate of 1 yawn/second. It's been busy, but I think I thrive off of the feeling that I always have to do something, even if a lot of it just involves studying for the numerous number of midterms that are coming up.

But, even in the midst of an angst-filled week in which you're served a chicken panini when you asked for a cheese panini (which wouldn't have been a large problem if I weren't a vegetarian), and then you talk to the people taking your order telling them that you're a vegetarian and you had just eaten chicken, and they just laugh at you like you're a complete idiot without apologizing and just change your order, and make it up by giving you more fries, was still a silver lining.

I don't try to tell people that they aren't allowed to eat chicken or beef in front of me, because I respect everyone's dietary concerns, needs, and wants, and I don't want or need to eat meat. It's sad that in such a large institution, there is still much disregard for those who are vegetarians, it's as if we have to make special requests. I don't regard myself as having a special dietary need, I simply took out a portion of the food pyramid, it should actually be easier to serve me. Rant over.

But, in the midst of all of this, I took out a pair of pants that I've had since freshman year of high school, or maybe sophomore year, but irregardless, these pair of pants are four years old. But they're from Uniqlo and such nice quality, so I had to try them on, and realized that they look better rolled up! Sort of like long-ish capris or short-hemmed pants.

Additionally, after attempting to follow five Youtube videos on how to get a heart on my nail (I tried bandaids, makeup sponges, and tape), I said screw all, and just dipped the tip of a useless pencil into the bottle and drew the heart on my finger by dotting. It was basically free, and didn't involve me wasting three perfectly good band-aids.

And, I think I've finally added a permanent piece of jewelry to my collection. I never bother because I hate the bangles and the tangling. The only thing I always wear is a jade necklace that my grandma gave me, and is worn for respectful reasons, but Gabriel got two engraved rings, with our names and anniversary engraved on the inside. I absolutely love it, and I guess it's an early Valentine's gift, and I'm super excited to give him what I got him!
